Build something cool.

I'm Cameron Severn. I build ideas I think should exist, and help founders and small teams do the same.

Why Cool‑S? There's a story.

The approach

Small software. Big point of view.

AI has changed the cost of making software. That should create more room for specific, useful tools, not just bigger platforms.

  1. Design for the behavior you want.

Games taught me that incentives matter. A good system makes the useful action feel natural, satisfying, or worth repeating.

  2. Challenge the default business model.

Not every useful product needs a giant team, an audience of millions, or a subscription. Small problems deserve good software too.

  3. Use new tools to move.

Agentic engineering helps small teams make thoughtful software much faster. I use that speed for quick decisions and rapid experimentation, not to skip the thinking.

Wildcard Dex

A wildlife ID app built like a game. Point your camera, let AI identify what you found, and grow a personal dex of collectible species. You earn XP across five rarity tiers, unlock badges, and trade cards with friends.

StackFlutter on iOS and Android, with its live service on Firebase Cloud Functions, Firestore, and Gemini.

One Shot at Love

A dating game for people who'd rather build a character than write a bio. Nine questions become a character sheet of stats, alignment, ideal, bond, and flaw. You get one encounter a night. No swiping. No infinite scroll.

StackExpo + React Native across iOS, Android, and web; its web app and APIs run on Vercel with Clerk and Neon Postgres.

Sleep Mask

A private sleep app that synthesizes noise in real time. With Adaptive Masking on, Sleep Mask briefly samples the room at intervals and shapes its sound to better cover disruptive frequencies.

StackFlutter on iOS and Android, with native audio engines and no server—everything runs offline.

Vibometer

A distribution readiness audit for early-stage apps. Point it at a URL and 23 signals across six pillars produce a free, shareable 0–100 score. A paid audit turns it into a personalized playbook: channels, keywords, and a 30-day launch sequence.

StackNext.js + TypeScript on Vercel, with Neon Postgres, OpenRouter, Stripe, and server-side Chromium.

The studio

Many interests. One studio.

Cool‑S is the studio I use to build companies one product at a time. I can carry an idea from the first commercial question through interaction, code, launch, and the boring operational details, or work alongside a small team to bring in the right expertise. Keeping the team small keeps decisions close to the work, making it easier to experiment, learn, and improve quickly without losing the thread.

I grew up playing video games and board games with my family. Games were some of my earliest lessons in how rules shape behavior, constraints create creativity, and a good system can make people want to keep participating. That perspective still shapes how I build products today.

I also work as a data scientist and biostatistician. I have a degree in audio engineering, and I'm always learning about science and technology. That curiosity feeds a love of automation and agentic engineering. New AI tools make it possible to move much faster, which means more people can build software for their own real problems.
